Cake n Cheesecake


For weekly Sunday night baking this week we made cake n cheesecake. It's a cheesecake that has cake on the bottom as the crust. It was delicious!

The Cheesecake:
8oz pkg cream cheese (at room temp)
2/3c sugar
1/2 c sour cream
1 t vanilla
2 eggs

Mix the sugar and cream cheese together until creamy. Add the sour cream and vanilla, blend in the eggs, one at a time. set aside.

The Cake/Crust:
1c flour
1t baking powder
1/2 t salt
1/2c butter softened
2/3c sugar
2 eggs
1T milk
1t vanilla



Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together. Cream the butter, gradually add sugar and cream well. Add eggs one at a time beating well after each. Stir in milk and vanilla. Add dry ingredients and blend well.
Turn into 10in deep dish pie plate that has been greased and floured on the bottom only. Spread the batter over bottom and sides, spreading a little thinner over the sides. Spoon cheese mixture over the batter.



Bake at 325 for 40-45 min, spread with topping and bake an additional 5min. Cool, cover with plastic wrap and chill in fridge for at least 4 hours.



Sour cream topping:
Combine-
1c sour cream
2 T sugar
1 t vanilla
